Dear Uncle Dixer: My husband (1948 Rat) and I (1953 Snake) are looking to move from New York to Florida and purchase our first house this year, 2017.
Is it better to wait until after the Fall 2017 when prices will begin to drop? How long after the Fall of 2017 should we wait to look to purchase? In the meantime, are our savings safe in the bank or is better to move it to a credit union (or perhaps buy gold)? Thank you so much.
Answer: In time of uncertainty it is always better to act with caution and spread out your risks.
I would suggest you invest some of your savings in stable currencies like gold or real estate outside of your country, but still have some in the bank or the CU to be liquid.
As for moving south, it is not a favorable direction in the year of the Rooster. Looking at the yearly Flying Star chart, I would pause for a bit of time to do it at the end of the year or the beginning of next.
