Hi Monse,
Don’t be worried just yet. If you have proper ventilation you’ll be fine. Please note that kitchen Feng Shui rules were used for ancient times. Read this: https://fengshuinexus.com/feng-shui-rules/outdated-kitchen-feng-shui-rules/

Hi Victor!

I’m getting very worried because my kitchen is in the center of my home and the front door faces South, which is my unlucky direction since my kua is #6.

This used to be my father’s home, who died of a sudden heart attack out of nowhere last year at 65. I know realize that my house is also at a T injuction, and the master bedroom (my dad’s) was right infront of the T injuction (on ground level, windows facing the garage) and directly above the kitchen (at the center of the house).

I don’t really have means to move right now, do you think there are cures without contruction? Thanks!

Hi Vanessa,
I’m with you – it’s confusing when you read an article here and there. I wouldn’t worry too much about this because (1) it applies to the stove, (2) the area where the stove shouldn’t be there is quite narrow and you need compass measurement, (3) ancient stoves are different than our gas/electric stoves today. Before you start applying your personal Kua, you should use the house Kua first. See this: https://fengshuinexus.com/feng-shui-home/feng-shui-directions-eight-mansions-house-kua/

I read in one of your other articles that this is bad as it represents the “fire at heaven’s gate”. However, my husband and I are both east groups and the NW is an unlucky sector for us. So I am a bit confused by this contradiction. Does one rule have a bigger effect than the other?

Hi Silvia,
This article has all of your answers: https://fengshuinexus.com/feng-shui-rules/applying-feng-shui-couples-opposite-kua-groups/
Keep in mind that I have doubts on the Eight Mansions practice.

My kua # is 7 (East) & my husband is 9 (West). He’s the breadwinner in the household. So, it means the kitchen/bathroom should be place in his inauspicious area. But what about the rest of the rooms locations, such as bedrooms? Seems like we both have the opposite inauspicious area.

Hi Rya,
The idea of having the stove behind a wall is the same idea for having sofa, bed, against a solid wall. Depending on the wind direction, the fumes can also spread into the home because of the window behind it.
For the studio, the same concept applies. You look at which sector of the home the kitchen/stove is located at.

I love your simple explanation om the kitchen. But how about kitchen that is compactly located at studio room apartment (32 sqm) ?
Also kitchen said that is better against a wall then have window behind it. Why is that? Since window can release the fume into outside of your house faster. Thanks a lot Victor
